Quantum Tree of Life

Quantum Physics studies the fundamental laws of our Universe, describing the behaviour of its constituents and even the early instants in which our Universe was created.

In many cultures the center and the starting point of creation is symbolised with a tree: Yggdrasil for the Scandinavians, the Tree of Knowledge or the Tree of Life in the semitic culture.

In our game, by establishing the connection between this ancient symbol and the latest scientific technologies, such as the quantum computer, we would like to underline the fundamental role of quantum physics, its inseparable connections to the basic laws of Nature and to phenomena such as life and perhaps even consciousness.

The gameplay is inspired to the Game of Life by J. Conway. However, our evolving cells are now quantum bits and the rules defining the evolution of each cell are decided by a real quantum computer.

The player decides which initial cells to activate initially in the Quantum Tree of Life and will then have to predict how Life will spread, flourish or disappear in the Tree.
